Lot's of Crazy pricing on Ebay, particularly anything remotely associated with Ric. $119 for a slightly ratty old polishing cloth? Really?

My 93 and 94 have longer pegheads than the ones in the late '90s to end of production. And I much prefer the early 90s models -- they just feel right to me, maybe the '80s v63s were the same but I haven't played enough of em to know...Teed, I'd bet your '67 S was just about the prototype for what v63s should have been...do you still have that baby?

Regarding the newer 4003S models, I own 2 of em and both are just coolness regarding the shape of horns, peghead, etc. IMHO... :D

Only the earliest ones. Mid eighties.

I gave up searching THE v69 of my dreams when they started the c production.
Early nineties v63 or cs'es are closest to me

From what I can tell from pictures it looks like '89 was the first year for the slimmer horns.

My wife made me throw it out because it smelled so bad.

I have seen a few on Guitar Centers used site within the 2200-3000 range. I have ordered several guitars from their used site without disappointment. They do have a 45 day guarantee that if you don’t like it, just take it back. You lose your shipping fee but get the cost of the instrument back.

Yea, just beware of the GC in Bakersfield, Ca. They recently shipped me a used Danelectro 12 String with missing strings and large, dirty fingerprints. Two calls to the store and both promised to send a new set of strings, but they never arrived. I can live without that level of customer service.

There’s a ‘98 FG V63 on the bay amongst all the darkness.

I’m tempted but looks sort of clown bursty and I have concerns about the neck size from ‘98. Wish I could check it out in person.

My April '98 4001V63's neck was virtually the same as that of the two early/mid '73 4001s I had. Nice and thin.

Pretty sure my V63 was a ‘98 and the neck was the biggest of any of the Rics I’ve had. That and the fact that I couldn’t get the toaster as high as I wanted it (the fingerboard was higher off the body than my vintage basses) were the reasons I sold it.

I had a Feb ‘96 CS and a ‘91 CS and they both had much thinner necks.
