Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
Carl, I have added your measurements. I take it there was only one Jan. 2010 MG bass? I will upload the file when I get to the authorized ISP tomorrow.
Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
John - Thank you.
Actually there were two different MGs, the one I ended up buying and another one. It is interesting that they both had the same neck measurements, but one had a more pronounced D shaped profile near the neck than the other one.
Sorry for any confusion.

No confusion, just wanted to be sure. I will have them both in the database tomorrow.Jim Dandy wrote:John - Thank you.

You're added. Thanks. My 12/75 MG is the same but 13.0 for the 12th fret. Great player.T.A.R. wrote:I was home with a cold today so, I measured my July'74 4001MG

Well, I can't log to the server to upload the file - timing out. I will try later.
Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
Thanks Jeff, Thanks John, I think she plays great! But I must say that she's the only Rick I've ever had so nothing to compare her to.
Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
That reminds me. Here's another one for the spreadsheet - March '88 4003 JG:
1st: 11.0
3rd: 11.4
12th: 12.9
1st: 11.0
3rd: 11.4
12th: 12.9
Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
Thanks Matt, yours are in too. The site server is down so I can't upload and we can't get to it to see the file anyway.

Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
Could this database be updated to include information about neck width at nut and 12th fret as well? I think people often need that information just as much as the other useful measurements.
I can rattle off the width of all of my basses' neck at the nut right now, but will have to measure at the 12th fret later:
All of my modern 4003s: 1 & 11/16''
My 4001FL: 1 & 5/8''
My friend Derek's 4003 (Dec. 2007): 1 & 3/4''

Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
Last time I looked, all that info was there as well as front to back thickness measurements. It's on a separate page that you get to with the page tabs at the bottom of the sheets...cassius987 wrote:Could this database be updated to include information about neck width at nut and 12th fret as well? I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
I think a width measurement at the end of the neck is more useful than the 12th fret.

Maybe all three are best.jps wrote:I think a width measurement at the end of the neck is more useful than the 12th fret.

3rd fret 11.3 cm
12th fret 12.8 cm
1972 4001
