Fret buzz problem with 4003

Also it could be the old strings were really dead, and yeah new strings will buzz like crazy in comparison.
To me the classic tone of a Ric is all about the fret buzz. It should be even fret buzz across the whole neck. I always thought of it as the Ric grunt. Then again I'm a round wound string guy.

By all means check your neck too. And indeed it's a very useful thing to be able setup your own instruments.
And cheaper too!
