Hello,

I just ordered H*pSh*t tuners for my 1988 4003, JG/BT refinished to MG/BT....soon to be MG/GT --gold trim!--

yes! gold hipshot tuners....should look good with the MG ric

why do you guys put * for i and * for o in hipshot?

so, what are the hardware sizes of the screws on the bass?

3 screws for the truss rod cover
8 screws for the pickguard
2 screws for the neck pup adjust
4 screws for the bridge pup surround
2 screws for the bridge pup adjust
7 screws for the bridge-- (I have the 2 at back of the bridge to prevent tail lift, factory installed, not a user mod)
4 screws for the input jack

So, any one know the sizes of this stuff? I will look as well, any help in the right direction would be cool!

I want to put in all gold hardware, taking out the black / chrome hardware in there now....

So, lets see how it goes!

Allen

I'll have to look, but I may have the three gold TRC screws.

I was thinking of doing one as well MG/GT If you are going to use the Gold hipshot tailpiece and you want to keep the traditional ric sound use the aluminum version instead of brass. Good luck can't wait to see it

I also think that gold trim would look awesome on a Jetglo (think les paul black beauty) the hard part is the pickup covers in gold would have to be custom. You can paint it yourself with goldflake paint in rattle can. the next problem would be trim rings in gold that would be goregous either MG or JT :D

John, thanks for the diagrams....

here is what I see so far......

3 screws for the truss rod cover

+++++++++++
SCREW TAP 3 x 3/8 RD PH GOLD
RD means round head----PH is phillips screwdriver
ric part number 05209
+++++++++++

8 screws for the pickguard
+++++++++++++++
SCREW TAP 4 x 3/8 OV PH GOLD
OV means oval head----PH is phillips screwdriver
ric part number 05210
+++++++++++++++

2 screws for the neck pup adjust
4 screws for the bridge pup surround
2 screws for the bridge pup adjust
7 screws for the bridge-- (I have the 2 at back of the bridge to prevent tail lift, factory installed, not a user mod)
4 screws for the input jack

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

any other ideas on the other sizes?
any other exploded drawings, or ric diagrams?

thanks!

Bass neck pickup screws are 4-40 X 5/8 round headed machine screws (mounts/adjusts the bass neck pickup)

thanks tall pat!

I am finding out about screws and stuff!

here is some helpful info on types of screw heads

--Pan head
A low disc with chamfered outer edge
--Button or dome head
Cylindrical with a rounded top
--Round head
Dome-shaped, commonly used for machine screws
--Truss head
Lower-profile dome designed to prevent tampering
--Flat head or countersunk
Conical, with flat outer face and tapering inner face allowing it to sink into the material
--Oval or raised head
Countersunk with a rounded top

---------------

rickenbacker has these listed as PAN (panhead) OV (oval head) and RD (round head)

they only have 4-40 x 1/2 on the ric site...(not that 1/8 makes a big dif, and you wotn even see it under the PG, Im just saying)

and, what is the difference between these?

SCREW M/S 4-40 x 1/2 RD SLT
ric part number---05113

and

SCREW M/S 4-40 x 1/2 RD SLT SO
ric part number--- 05149

what does that "SO" mean?
