I've always liked having multiple options for dirt thus the excess of fuzz pedals and with previous bands I had a relatively tame pedal setup. my main band now layers lots of space noises so it encourages me to experiment with all sorts of sounds and tones layered in with my walls of fuzz. I like the challenge of seeing how much I can possibly do while never forgetting my role as the bassist (most importantly)

Peavey Pro 500 amp with either a Pro 210 or Pro 410 cab.

Very nice! These amps (Pro 500) are rarely seen. At least, I never see them around.

I have read lots of superb things on those Mesa amps and cabs. Even the designer/engineer of those products is very accessible and frequently participates in discussion about them on Talkbass.

Hope this helps.

Normally I use one of two amp setups:
- Ampeg SVT-CL
- SansAmp RBI and Carvin Power Amp in a rack case

I tried something a little different last night with the full band and it worked really well. My signal chain was like this:

4003 Bass->MXR Boost Pedal->Noise Gate->Darkglass B7K Utlra->Carvin Power Amp->Ampeg 810 Speaker Cabinet

Like I said, it worked really well. I'm going to try it a couple more times to make sure I like it, then I'm going to put everything except the power amp on a pedal board.

I got a new head. Custom Matamp GT-150. This thing is amazing. Had them tweak the mids on it to dial in vintage Marshall like Lemmy. Sounds like a mix of Sleep and Motorhead tones. It's perfect.

I'm using an Orange OB1-300 with a single 15 cabinet usually with a tech 21 VT bass di, sounds fantastic in my opinion.

Rickenbacker bass + 15" speakers is magic.

My main rig for quite a few years now has been a Phil Jones M-500 head, with Phil Jones 8-T and 16-B cabs.
Its a fantastic sounding rig, but its also heavy as an elephant.
I recently picked up a pair of Hartke HyDrive 112 neo cabs, and I'm using my SWR Headlite for my main amp now.
It doesn't have as much clarity & punch as the Phil Jones, but I can carry the entire rig in a single trip, unassisted, and that makes the slight tradeoff in tone more than worth it.
I plan on upgrading the SWR head soon. I'm thinking about a Darkglass Microtubes 900, or maybe an EBS Reidmar 700.
I just pre-ordered a Tech-21 Geddy Lee signature Ged 2112 SansAmp, so there's a possibility that it may also become part of my revised setup.

Consider an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500. Mine makes my Ricks, and other basses sound glorious.

Thanks - I'll check the Aggie out.
I think they just came out with a 700 watt version.

Yeah, the AG700. Which, as you probably know from Talkbass, is getting some great reviews. 8)
