4003 Red bass

Post by billschink »

I am trying to find out when this guitar was made and if I have the correct model. The serial # is YI1621. I have pix, but they are too big to load.

Resize the photos with whatever you have on your computer to no larger than 1280x1280 and 500Kb, then you can upload them.

William, have you used the serial number decoder on Rickenbacker's website?

Andy, if you're thinking Redneck, they were all made in late 1987 into 1988. 8)

Red with black hardware was a stock color, they did make 4003s red with black trim hardware as well in to the 90's s, they did a limited run of red 4003's in 90's they had chrome screws, chrome damper screws and chrome pick up cover/ finger rest as per blackstar style.
