Christmas Ricks?

Post by Gilmourisgod »

These just popped up on Talkbass, don't know the origin. Dig the Christmas Colors, particularly the British Racing Green. Looks like it's checker binding too. Anybody know the deal on this? I'm guessing limited run special order Unobtanium??

This came from the RIC Facebook page but has no explanation from RIC there. Looks to me like some experimentation and possibly some special order examples. Except for what appears to be a standard Fireglo 4003. The world waits . . . .

Where do you guys see a green guitar?
I'm seeing l to r a fireglo, a jetglo with checker, a gold, and a classic sunburst with bronze pg.
The picture has a green shine to me

Is that gold the same as Desert Gold? In the photo it looks a bit deeper/richer, but that may be due to the photo being a bit underexposed. It does work quite well with the maple fingerboard. 8)

Go for it, Kevin. :D It'll probably cost no more than that new fireplace mantel you are planning for the living room.

Its different to desert gold and the pic they posted of the headstock has alot of metalflake, almost a sparkle finish.

The one you listed as jetglo is British Racing green according to Ric. The pic of just the head stock shows the green color better.

The sunburst one has a wooden TRC and guard. The RIC logo is laser-cut (burned) onto it.
I remember seeing a photo of this from the factory a year or so ago. Very cool!

Desert Gold was much more subtle. I saw it as "metallic sand" rather than "gold." This experiment(?) is more of a metalflake yellow-gold. Not a fan. Like the BRG though!
