HB-1 Pup Dimensions

Post by Gilmourisgod »

Does anyone know if the metal base plate of stock Hi-gains neck pups is the same as HB-1’s? Is it possible to swap out HB-1’s with a hi-gain into s 4004 with no big gap or additional routing required?

not sure about the swap out but I believe you can set up the HB's so you can tap the coil... This sounds similar to the HG's to my ear. Maybe Dane will chime in here. He totally understands the Rickenbacker electronics (at least for basses) :^)

The wiring is another issue, I know the pot values would be different, but I’m really wondering about the physical dimensions of the pup back plate. They look the same size and corner radius, but are they actually the same? I know the HB-1’s aren’t threaded for a screw height adjust like the Hu-gains.
