Does the cat come with the bass?

If this was truly a Rickenbacker employee made bass why does it have an Allparts tailpiece/bridge (not to mention some other things)? I think this is not what it appears to be.

I just tried it aga and I got this:

I agree it may not be what it appears to be. The heel doesn't look close to either of mine.

I like how they boast "it's in the Rickenbacker book" (um, ok, which one?) and the pickup placement on their bass is in a totally different spot.

Hard to tell for me, but doesn't the neck heel look like a V63?

No matter what the seller is offering, I tune out immediately when they can’t even compose a sentence properly in their advert.

Bingo!

I think he is trying to refer to the picture of the experimental bass that's in the Smith book. This bass also appears to have modern Schaller tuners with the Rickenbacker name embossed on them. So this is a modern build/conversion. Wonder what the fifth knob does? Blend like the guitars?

I've gotten some of my best deals over the years from sellers who couldn't write.

That looks great, John!

If I got caught up in how someone wrote, I'd never have another dealing with myself!

My one visit to the factory (75th anniversary weekend) the real one, as seen in Biscuti's hand, was AWOL; John Hall did not know, at the time, where it was. However, it was the inspiration for the 4004L SPC Ben made for me. :D
