4001 Truss Rods - Vinyl Tape

Post by teptwizz02 »

Hi. I just placed strips of vinyl tape (electrical) between the truss rods, top and bottom as many forum entries here have indicated as standard for these rods. I was just wondering how this is effective in preventing rattle. The tape doesn't appear to be thick enough to actually make a difference. Any thoughts on this guys? Thanks.

I'm not intimately familiar with the whole thing, but I'd think this should be effective, even if all it does is make the rattle "tape against wood" instead of "metal against wood" (which would be louder).

When I pulled out the rods of my old 4005WB the tape was all but dried out and not doing anything. When I put the rods back in I did not bother with new tape, never had an issue.
