Pickguard for 4000 bass

Post by JKoehler »

Hey all. I`m looking to restore my `75 BurgundydGlo 4000 bass, and was wanting to replace the non original PG that`s on now. I`ve contacted Pickguardian, but never heard back from them, so I`ve decided to make one myself. I was hoping someone out there would be willing to trace their 4000 PG for me. I would compensate you for your time, and would greatly appreciate it also.

Yeah, me too. Try again. He's been solid for many years now.

I've had emails disappear into "the digital divide" before. It happens...

He’s usually very good with emails. Even when I have continued old threads with him. Try again.

Hi. If you are still having any difficulty I posted just such a thing in response to someone else's request in July 2012. At that time the OP said Pickguardian didn't have a template.
I made that drawing from my 1975 4000. Sorry, I'm not sure how to directly link to a post.

Search the 'RRF Gear Technical Forums ‹ Reflections of a Curmudgeon' for a post called '1973 Rickenbacker 4000 pickguard' - about three quarters of the way down the first page the attachment is still there.

In fact the page I posted the drawing is here viewtopic.php?f=14&t=406343 (hadn't realised it was as simple as copy and paste)

I received the original guard yesterday to make a duplicate in white acrylic. I'll also be reproducing the original wiring harness.
