Hi all,
I have found a reasonable deal on a 1976 Ric 4001 - what should I remember to look out for to avoid any issues down the road?

Rick-en-back-er. It's just so fun to say, let alone play.

Will the seller let you pull off the TRC and pickguard to have a look inside?

70's 4001's can be great but I'd want to see them in person, or else have a robust return policy in place and get lots of pics and ask all the questions. Look for the classic diagonal cracks away from the corners of the nut, indicating improper truss rod adjustment (common), and make sure the electronics have not been monkeyed with too bad.
