Newbie Repair Question

Post by Kent »

Hey folks- I did a cursory search yesterday but didn't see anything recent on repair recommendations. Sorry in advance if I missed it.

I picked up a 2008 Mapleglo 4003 recently and the neck seems to have moved around quite a bit since then. It's got a pretty serious bow and a slight twist. I took it to well reputed luthier who was able to replace a broken truss rod but unfortunately he couldn't get it back to acceptable shape.

My questions are these:

a) any recs on repair? especially in the Southeastern US?

b) I'm a little concerned that I'll be really upside down in this guitar by the time it gets setup and am considering selling it. Any thoughts on price or inquiries are welcomed.

Cheers! I'm gutted that my first Rick is turning out to be a problem child but I'm still already really attached to her. If this one doesn't work out I'll certainly be in the market for another.

Welcome Kent. Sorry to hear that. Ben Chafin in Tampa is a good dude... not sure how "SE" you are.

Thanks Jason! I'm in NC, so Tampa is a ways. It may come to that though!
