My 4004l 4/2/5 conversion originally made by Dane Wilder
Here it is in its current state w/HB-1’s jockeyed around. One placed roughly in a jazz bass bridge position. Great playing and sounding 5er. V/V/T w/pull pot taps

Re: 4004 5string conversion
I'd been wondering how this bass was doing. This bass had the older neck with the wider taper, but was the first year of the stronger two piece neck. In order to get the extra tuner on the bottom side of the headstock, and not make it looked like it was a crammed in hack job, I dowelled both existing tuner holes with maple, then drilled them with wider spacing. The bridge was a current 4003 part that was heavily modified, then replated. Intonation is adjusted from the front.
Re: 4004 5string conversion
It’s a real versatile bass. W/the bridge p/u at 2 1/4” (+\-) and all the pull pot options it’s reminiscent of a EB musicman
