I watched the NBC Nightly News tonight and they had a piece on people observing the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' last live performance on the rooftop of the Apple building, 30 January 1969. They had vintage clips of the performance, then short clips of a few tribute bands around the country (world?) recreating the event. They mentioned "Austin Texas" and had about two seconds of a band, and there was Forumite Ronn Roberts, with a lefty Höfner 500/1 sans pickguard and with a "BASSMAN" sticker, just like Macca's at the rooftop concert. Good to see you, Ronn!

Saw that too! Didn't know that was Ronn... a well done piece. I would have liked it to gone on a bit longer. Lester Holt is a Bass player as well - maybe that's why I watch that news show.
