CS/V63 stereo conversion

I want to rewire a CS as a single stereo output (ala Chris Squire) and not being great at reading wiring diagrams, could anyone post details and photos of the necessary wiring from the two pickups to the stereo jack socket please?
Most of the photos I have seen are a bit busy visually and they are usually for twin RicOsound sockets.
I would like to do the job myself if possible. Thanks.

Thinking of the RIC schematics like it's a road map should make it a lot easier to figure out what to do. The only thing that should concern you is the area by the output jack. Up to that point, the bass' wiring is stereo, with the two "sides" are tied together at the lug for the tip at the mono (TS) output jack. Simply separate those two wires and connect each one to its respective lug (T and R) on the stereo (TRS) jack.

An observation: the schematic here shows a stereo output jack, it should be a mono one as this schematic describes it as being for a mono bass, but this shows exactly what you need to do to convert you bass to stereo, so it is drawn just as you would rewire yours:

Compare it to a mono/ROS one and you will clearly note what is going on with those models, and can see how the harness is really stereo all the way up to the output jacks:

Hope this helps.

Note:
T = tip
R = ring
S = sleeve

Dane here does a thing where a push/pull pot can make a single jack work for mono or stereo.

Just like Chris'! Besides, if you ever do want to go mono you can use a simple adapter at the output jack to combine the two signals to one.

I did it!
Posted full size photos on Facebook.
Photos of the wiring before the conversion show the black screening paint that the factory
put under the hood.
Has anyone else got this on theirCS?

Now I need to get spare stereo leads (just in case) and a stereo to mono adapter for the other basses.
Thanks for your help guys.

Congrats in the rewiring job. :D

I've never seen shielding paint from the factory. Did you buy the bass brand new?

Posted on the Rickenbacker guitars and basses Facebook forum. The only pics are full size at the moment.
I bought the CS new in early 1991. This bass was made in August 1990 and used as a Rick exhibition piece to advertise the new Ltd edition.
On its way back from the Frankfurt Music Messe it was at the Ric UK office near Manchester and I was lucky enough to get them to agree to sell it to me.
It had no certificate as I dont think they were even in existence at that stage some months before the launch.
The screening is factory issue.

Beauty of a bass! I did RIC O Sound in my v63 as well, but opted for the push-pull switch from Dane, because I wanted the option to go back and forth. Congrats!

IIRC, my '91 CS (bought used) had black shielding paint. I assumed it had been done afterwards, but maybe not.
