First attempt at a 4-2-5

This is the third 4-2-5 conversion bass I have owned. The first two were done by Mr Rath but the necks were just too wide for my damaged wrist. This 2017 4003S has a perfect neck for me to play as a 5 string. I had some help from Paul Wilczynski with the headstock and neck paint. Got lucky finding a RIC 5 string treble pickup on the bay. Will be installing an HB1 in the neck position. This is now my #1 bass.

Nice! That's the PU combo I've got on my (also Paul W) 4-2-5 convert.

Mine's an '07, necks a bit of a chonker, depth-wise, but I love the narrow spacing.

Yes, the narrow spacing is perfect for me too. Right hand finger style is no problem.

Wow! That looks as good as the older factory built S5's.

Thanks! It was a bit stressful putting a drill bit to the headstock.
