high gain pickup covers
I'd like to put a bridge pickup where it doesn't belong and am hoping to ditch the mounting ring at the same time. I'm am having a hard time sourcing neck pickup covers for a high gain bobbin.... any suggestions? Any other potential pitfalls regarding this are always appreciated.

You'll have to glue the cover on because there is no base plate to screw it to. You might try Pick of the Ricks to see if they have any covers in stock.

Actually Dane, you can take a neck pickup base plate and use long 3/48(I think) screws to attach the whole thing together.aceonbass wrote:You'll have to glue the cover on because there is no base plate to screw it to. You might try Pick of the Ricks to see if they have any covers in stock.
The caveat is that you have to trim the large magnet down to clear the ends.
I have a pickup that this has been done to.
The other thing is, that unless the cover is a '70s one with curved sides to the top, you'd need to file out for the G and E studs to clear.
The pickup is a Dale Fortune creation at my request.
