My Rickenbacker Anniversary
25 years ago today, I bought my 1st Rickenbacker, the blue flame 4001, as a birthday present for myself. I turned 45 a few days ago, the bass turns 45 sometime next month.

Wow - I've never seen that design before. Nice.
You've kept your baby in lovely condition, Erik. Actually, age-wise not so much of a baby, is it - shall we say sibling?

I know that at one time, the owner of Guitar Vila, John Slog, had a really impressive collection of vintage Rickenbacker basses.cheyenne wrote:I never get tired of seeing that one.

Erik, that's one of the few modified Ricks that I like very much...but you knew that already.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS!

Happy Birthday to mine! I purchased my 4001 bass on June 25, 1973 at Terminal Music, 48th St. in Manhattan. 47 years of faithful service and only one refret!
