Obviously beautifully made, but what's with that fugly pickup? Spoils the whole thing for me.

With a bridge like that how does one tweak it if needed?

Would not surprise me if it was not attached. Then you could shift it fore and aft, and maybe twist it a bit for intonation. And you guys thought the RIC bridge was tough to intonate!
