I always liked how they arrived at that modulation. Very clever arrangement.

And that bass looks very familiar, too. What is that - a '74 Jetglo? (My 2nd guess would be a Burgundy since it's lurking in the shadows.) Reminds me of my '79 4001 JG - I, too, dig me some Grover Titan tuners!

Sorry Mark.. did not see this earlier. Yes that is moi.. 1980 I believe. Long time ago in a band far far away. The drummer is Randy Black of Primal fear - german metal band. He and I used to a do a ton of Rush covers just for fun. He was/is a prodidgy on drums. He was also a huge Keith moon fan and used to do a solo at every gig we did. He never failed to blow away our audiences. As for the bass.. My first RIC and yes it was Burgundy. I sold it to buy a car after I quit the road. What I wouldn't give to have her again. I also miss my hair. sigh...

AHA! So it WAS Burgundy! Sorry you had to part with it. But if you had quit the ROAD, then why did you need a CAR?

And don't forget to tip your waitress back to her original upright position.

Great work, Mark. Your sound comes as close as I've heard to the crunch distortion CS used to get. My 4001C64 gets the exact "voice" in tone distribution, but I haven't achieved that natural sounding breakup you're getting. Your technique is also excellent.

All the best,

Thanks, Thomas. I couldn't get the crunch I do without tubes. Maybe some of the amp sim stuff like Tech 21 & Line 6 and the like are adequate substitutes, but I've found a home with the 12AX7s.

My preamp has 12AX7s.

Must be more to it than that, as I sound nuthin' like you or Squire!

I've got 12AX7s, 12AU7s, and 6550s but don't sound like that either.

Sorry about axing the "Love comes to you, you follow, etc..." line, but there was no bass there. You can see the bind I was in!
Awesome, awesome, and then more AWESOME !!!
