Benoit David out.
Benoit David out.
On Yes' FB page, they state they've recruited a new singer and David is out for the rest of the tour, citing health reasons.
I know no more than that.

Re: Benoit David out.
He was a nice guy whenever I talked to him, and I think he did a great job with Yes. Hope he gets to feeling better (same goes for Jon Anderson IIRC).
Re: Benoit David out.
Agreed. I thought he did a fine job. I also enjoyed the tracks on Fly From Here. Hope all turns out well.
Re: Benoit David out.
curiouser and curiouser-singing this music must be hard on the pipes! (insert ironic smilie here)
best of luck to them on the far east tours. from what i read on Facebook, the new singer guy is most capable.

Re: Benoit David out.

Re: Benoit David out.
Yea, I didn't know when this was going public. Guess it hit the internet today. All I know is the news was not well received, as they had enjoyed working with him up to this point. Several of the last shows of the European tour were cut and I don't think he ever mended properly... A real shame, as I for one am really enjoying Fly From Here. I honestly don't know where things will go from here but I bet there's a frenzy on that one Yes website that I don't visit.

And also sorry to hear. Fly From Here is very good. And I though he did a wonderful job at the concerts I saw. Just wonder how they are going
to find a credible replacement again.
Re: Benoit David out.
Although in doing some more reading, it looks like they already have a replacement?
Re: Benoit David out.
the scuttlebutt seems to be that Benoit is sick,so they are just getting a fill-in for tour dates already made......i saw this on the book of Face for Yes. you can get the new guy's name and some background from there.

Re: Benoit David out.
Jon Davison will be the new guy, for how long or to what end is anybody's guess. I know they have dates to fill and need to move on, so they found someone who knows the material. I just hope Fly From Here gets performed in the States. They were playing about 3/4 of it on the last tour, including the complete 25 minute suite.
Re: Benoit David out.
Jon Davison is the tribute singer for "Roundabout" in SoCal. He's quite good and plays other instruments too. I was going to audition for this band a few years back, but they're based out of San Diego, which was over 150 miles EACH WAY! Their guitarist is/was Johnny Bruhns who now plays guitar with Billy Sherwood in CIRCA.

Re: Benoit David out.
Sounds like he has good credentials. Video sounds good, but really need to hear him with the real Yes around him to really know I think.
Also hoping they come state side again sometime soon.

REALLY saddened to hear of this. As always, I wish the boys well, and hope the transition goes smoothly. I too REALLY enjoyed Mr. David.harrek wrote:

I thought he did a FANTASTIC job with his vocals. Not an easy spot to fill by any means. I hope things go well for him too.
As for OTHER site you guys mention, agreed. I can't remember ever being so TICKED off reading some of the outright MEAN & VILE things posted there. I couldn't believe my eyes when a certain someone posted a "KARMA" thread....I blew my top BIG TIME on that post and PM'd the moderators about it.
I haven't visited in about a year. There are a few really good people over there, it's a shame the filth and slime worked its way into the site. In all fairness, I did receive an email saying that they were trying to go in another direction and that they wanted to clean up the site. Here's hoping they achieved that goal.

Wow I hope he has a quick and complete recovery.... that IS a real bummer!

Is it indiscreet to ask what's going on with Mr. David? I mean, I hope he's going to be all better.
