Chris Squire's RM

Post by cheyenne »

Former member Jeff Rath posted this video over at Talkbass this morning. Since he cant post here anymore, I thought I'd take the liberty of posting the vid here.

Some real nice footage of the RM before it was finished in the legendary "Creamglo".

This is cool! So what was the original colour? This looks like he painted it and then put on faux binding.

Originally FG. Painting it cream was one of several changes this bass would undergo as the years rolled on.

That was really well played and recorded! (Peter needed to be louder though)

Not so good quality, Pete's guitar is up though.
Interesting at 1.28, shows the Bass in solid colour and with a clamp on the neck join, presume this must have been the time of the damage.

Love Squire's playing and sound. Always have, but on this recording anyway, his Rick sounds awful and completely lacking in bottom end. Actually pretty obnoxious.

I don't feel that tone is all that hard to get...with the right bass....which reminds me....that I have something VERY different I've been working on. Pictures and description tomorrow in a new bass thread...
