New Album and New American Tour
New Album and New American Tour
Just a heads up that YES has just announced new dates for their American tour this summer. Check their site. I'll be at the Mesa, AZ show!
And the new album ("Heaven and Earth") will be out July 8. The early buzz on it is very good.

Early buzz? Where is this buzz?
Re: New Album and New American Tour
Buzz:
There are quite a few little bits of feedback (twitter and from interviews) from Alan, Geoff, Chris, and Roy Thomas Baker (producer). They say that the recording was easy and relatively fast due to the pre-production work. Apparently Jon Davison wrote most of the lyrics and the energizing that he did for the band on stage carried into the studio.
Plus, they were probably buzzed as per usual.

So self buzzing then? Anything from outside the band? I wouldnt expect any artist to not pump their own material.
Re: New Album and New American Tour
Several close-to-the band fans as well have said good things but again, they are huge fans and would probably say good things no matter what.
We'll have to wait until July 8 to know for sure, eh?

Re: New Album and New American Tour
They're playing a couple of casino shows within a day drive for me,so i am hoping to get to one of them. ( although i have read that those shows are usually quite shortened)
Re: New Album and New American Tour
Yes, they often play a shortened set due to the Casino's pressure.

A small disappointment that they announced the new album buried at the end of the paragraph about the tour. Come on….put that out not he front page and start talking it up chaps!
Re: New Album and New American Tour
A new date has popped up: August 11 in Tucson. It is at a small theater called The Rialto. Tix went on sale last Friday.
Looks like I get to see two shows in a row!

So, the cover art is now viewable on places like Amazon. I didn't see anything about a special version of the CD yet so I will wait a bit before pre-ordering.
Re: New Album and New American Tour
...and the track listing is now available on the band's site.

Re: New Album and New American Tour
Today is the official US release date, and to my shock I actually found it locally at Best Buy…for a whopping $10 online purchase (local pickup). Most of our record stores have closed, so I doubted I would find it locally for a while.
Glad now that I didn't do the Amazon pre-order! Yeah…I'm old fashioned, I like to have the CD in my hands.
So, the cats will be heading for cover tonight as I blow some dust out of the speakers. Even though a few of the online clips I heard were a tad on the mellow side, I'll wait until I hear how it all weaves together in person.
