Chris Squire Ranney bass videos

Post by miguelbass »

Here are the "sort of tutorial" videos I made recently about the 8-string Ranney bass.

The latest one, part 4, has the precious collaboration of Eric Ranney himself, who contacted me after he saw part 3, and kindly offered to share his memories about how the Ranney bass came about, his story with Chris and a detailed technical description of the bass he built to Chris Squire.

Very nice job Miguel. I really enjoyed it all! The Ranney reply for the fourth part was so cool. Added a fitting ending to the story. Now I need to make some time and some popcorn a watch the whole series uninterrupted! Thanks!

I have Ranney bass! The nameplate cracked and when I went to replace it, his name was under it!

That's not a Ranney, at least not the Ranney that is being discussed here.
