Apache - The Orchestral Version

Post by royclough »

Orchestral version of the classic Apache which for some reason I still don't get, wasn't a hit for The Shadows in USA, they bought a far inferior version IMO by Jorgen Ingmann.

This is taken from a rare Album of orchestral arrangments of Jerry Lordan's tracks, Lordan wrote Apache.

Mr Rickenbacker will like this I am sure

Roy: What a gem you have pulled out from the archives. I have never heard this arrangement before and it really brings the genius of Lordon to light. The harmonies in this orchestra version are outstanding. The arrangement has a complexity about it that cannot be achieved with three guitars and drums.

I love the sound of the double bass and the tympani which take this version to another level. Also, the guitar remains in the arrangement with a tonality that rivals the famous James Bond theme.

I would love to have this version in an mp3 should you find it in your cannon of classics.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
