THE SYSTEM

Post by royclough »

In 1964 The Searchers perfomed over the opening credits for the movie The System starring Oliver Reed (aka The GirlGetters in US). They did not appear in the film and for a long while the track was only available on a E.P. which had three tracks from a album on also. The track did not appear on CD till 80s and is often overlooked by those who in the past have complled Seachers tracks for compilation albums.

Thanks for posting this Roy. I remember the film but did not connect the dots until now.

I actually have this on a Pye cassette, entitled "When You Walk In The Room", which is essentially a hits compilation - no idea of the date it was issued, the cassette is marked (P) 1963, 1964, 1965, which presumably covers the original recording dates, but no other info at all. Great collection, though!
