Sounds like Tim Rose who wrote the song also

I believe Billy Roberts wrote Hey Joe. It had been believed that it was written by Dino Valenti but that was later disproven.

Well, I know there are disputes over who wrote it - this version is by Tim Rose, so well done George, and over to you.
(This was a slight distortion, or breaking, of the rules, in that the hit was a cover of this, rather than this being a cover of the hit :) )
