I like the G&P version a bit better than BD's as well. I love Darin's material, but I thought the strings were a bit over the top for my taste on this one.

I'll be there: The Pacemakers' version was a favourite with me back in the mid-60's. It was one of the first 4 45's i owned (I Feel Fine, I'm Alive and What Have They Done To The Rain the other 3).

What a great singer Doris Troy was. Her records for Apple really are great.
I have to take Doris over the Hollies due to that smooth, silky and soulful voice. The Hollies record is great but a bit shrill to these ears. Ah, poor old Eric Haydock. Nobody could find a bass for him to play on during the lip sync of this video?

Fender Bass VI - it was good enough for Jack Bruce... (not to mention John and GeorgeAh, poor old Eric Haydock. Nobody could find a bass for him to play on during the lip sync of this video?
