Very cool Greg!

Those are the best "close up" pictures of that guitar I've ever seen.

Thanks 8)

Very cool! 8) Thanks for sharing!

Was that really his original J-160E on the display? Seems odd that the black would fade to a red cherryburst, unless it was refinished at some point:
1962Gibson5.jpg
George with the 1962 J-160E, note the moved pick up (which could have been re-located to its original position). John's '62 was stolen by this point, replaced with the "double ring" version with the orange tag in the sound hole.

I recall that clip of George in the 70s watching a film of them playing "This Boy" - "I gave that guitar away!" Sounds like he gave a lot of guitars away over the years!

That's great. What it must be like to actually play that Rickenbacker. 8)

Lotsa history was made on that "ordinary" guitar. 8)

It certainly gave me pause for thought....

Man, that guitar looks great. The pics you took, Greg, look real, too. The finish has ambered really nicely, too. Kinda like the 360/12V64 from '86 Kevin Kuney had for sale a while back...

Also, why stare at his original Duo Jet locked in glass when you can have a cheap $20k imitation from Gretsch Custom Shop? (The following was not bashing Gretsch in the slightest, it was merely a joke at how down to detail the Harrison tribute Duo Jet is)

Thanks all.

JakeK,
Thanks for the comps. I've had some success shooting vintage guitars, & catching the red (right) with no flash. Am happy with these snaps. High Def pics are coming soon. If interested. I wish I had as much success playing them...
It was nice to be alone with these guitars and no crowd to contend with, Ill tell you that ..............
Does everyone know this guitars Serial Number? Hope you all get a chance to see it, in person.

Greg, thank you so much for sharing these pictures of George's beautiful 12 string! This is the guitar that launched so many player's love affair with Rickenbacker!

Outstanding job, Greg. Your photographs reveal the true character, look and (almost) feel of this utterly remarkable guitar.
