Yeah, people like that will drive a wedge between you and your musical happiness. How many bands are toppled by this kind of in-fighting, and he hasn't even passed the audition. At least he didn't rip you off to boot.

Sean,

It's a good job I don't live in Austin or you would have competition for that title.

Well, frankly I'm a little 'dissapointed' too, Sean...that you didn't kick his a** while you had the chance, or at least pump his tires down.

Here's my favorite portion of his vile screed:

"i dropped a line to your bass player a week or so ago, from which he never responded."

Please allow me, brother, to offer up a remonstrative rejoinder to our percussive friend:

Hey, numbnuts, you're combining two figures of speech...you must mean either: TO which he never responded, or: from which he never RECOVERED.

There, that'll show him...f***** dr*****s...

Went through near the same thing. Guitar player shows up, **** guitar, can barely play, doesn't know our stuff. Audition felt like hours. He could only play a few oldies all the way through. Goodbye. Later he emails and rags for not being contacted after. If we can't even play an entire tune together, why would he expect us to have to explain anything. He had no right to show up in the first place!

The guy who did end up in the band bought our CD and learned five songs before showing up.

Jerry, except for the "**** guitar", it almost sounds like your describing me trying to audition your your band.

Wait, with regards to the "doesn't know our stuff", I do have the Shamus Twins' CD; it's just that I've never tried to play along with it. :D :D :D

Kind of reminds me of the old Freddy Fender song with the line in it "If you don't love me, why don't you tell me so"....or something like that.

My silent response was always "Well hell dude, what more do you need to know beyond silence I don't love you any more?"

By the way, Sean, you'll probably improve your playing if you switch from the RBI to the RPM.

Hey now, qwezirider...cut old Freddy some slack, he wasn't writing in his first language...which is a better excuse than Rod Stewart ever had...

Remember this classic line from FF?

for making me blue-oo-oo..."

maybe he liked you all very much and just felt hurt and really did not mean any of that stuff, otherwise he would not have spent so many words and time on his email to you in the first place....

Well, stay out of the west coast please. I don't want anyone to challenge my self-assumed title of "Worst Bass Player on the West Coast".
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

With apologies to the Fonz, you may be the worst bass player in Austin but I am the worst bass player EVERYWHERE ELSE!! ;)

Count your blessings that you got a funny story out of the experience and you're not having to deal with him anymore.

I'm not a 'real' bass player, otherwise I'd be the worst!

Sean...This is a really stupid individual who gives drummers a bad name. "Carpen tunnel?" He sounds illiterate. If he can't learn three songs, he's an idiot.
