I found the new colors bright too, but use the old forum color scheme! It has grown on me and I have talkbass open on the next tab so it is a nice contrast, and I know for sure which one I'm on!

This is AWESOME!!!!

Nice work guys! I'm gonna miss the old setup... but it's more like the myriad other boards I've been on here and there, so not much in the way of learning curve. It's like me and all of my friends stopped hanging out at the apartment and now we're in a nice new house. COOL!!!!
What do you mean the Bass is too loud???

Great new look to the forum, Peter. It will take a little while to get used to. Are the attached picture size constraints still the same?

There are some really cool features on this bulletin board software! The best thing of all, I think, is the editing of posts and the ability to post up to 800x600 images and up to 256k in size for the file, as links to other web site on which you have placed the image, and where the images display in the browser perfectly. The old board did not do that - it showed the URL as a HTML link but did not display the image. And it converted all the HTML over to its own wonky code. The new one is HTML all the way!

Man, I am never uploading an image again to the bulletin board software! :D

IT???? IT????
There is NO discus -> phpbb converter out there, especially not something to parse the html "archives". I had to write everything myself, including html to bbcode conversion...
There is no IT. There is one bored unix sysadmin and programmer! :)

There are many more cool features, trust me, the more I am using this forum the more I understand how incredible it is.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

I appreciate that this is quite a change and that it will take a while to get used to all the features. From an administrative point of view it makes my job much easier. It also allows for searchable archives, the absence of which has been bothering me for a few years. The other format served us well in the beginning but over the years newer and more powerful software has allowed for features that the old system could not. Thanks Gil, I am grateful for all that you have done. :D

No, what I meant was, when entirely within the Discus Pro software environment, way before PHPBB, if you input HTML code into a post, and then subsequently tried to edit your own post, the Discus Pro editor no longer showed the standard HTML you entered. It instead showed a "wonky" form of the tags or links. You could not edit anything further using HTML tags. You had to edit the Discus Pro non-standard tags to change anything about embedded HTML links to other web sites, for example, or making text bold or italicized.

None of that had anything to do with the PHPBB bulletin board software in use now..... what you have now is GREAT! :D
