Well, I think I figured it out for my situation. In Firefox, there's a setting for how long to keep cookies (Tools->options under Privacy). The machine where it would log me out had this set to Keep cookies until <I close Firefox>. I changed this to <Until they expire>, which I'm gonna guess will fix it...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I'm still experiencing the same problem in having to sign in just about every day or so when I visit this forum. It's frustrating for me as I belong to about 6 other guitar related forums, and quite a few others, and usually remain signed in for many months.

I'm running Vista on my PC and usually access all the forums I belong to thru AOL. Does anyone else out there have this issue?
I'd really like to put it to rest as it's very tedious. The good thing is the high quality content of this particular forum is worth it.
I might try using Firefox as an alternative to see if there's any improvement.

How about losing AOL? Do you have options here?

Yeah, I could easily get rid of AOL, but then again this continual signing-on issue is the only bug. There's got to be a technical reason for it somewhere.

Just an update, I didn't get rid of AOL, but I did get rid of my Sony Vaio, and ended up with a Mac, now I've remained signed on for months. Seems to have solved the "staying signed-in issues".

AOL adapts to your connection. I have AOL through broadband (router, cable) and there is no limit as to how long I can stay logged in.
