Permissions?
I recently joined the forum (or so I thought), but when I log in and select the Ric Marketplace it tells me "I don't have the required permissions to access this forum".
So... do I have to donate a guitar or something to the moderator to get "permission" What's up?
Thanks!

Re: Permissions?
You need to make 30 posts in other forum areas in order to access the Marketplace. This is to filter out people whose sole purpose is to join the forum to try to sell things. That's what ebay is for...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Welcome, Keith!
Donating a guitar can't hurt. No Gibsons, please.

Why not? At least they're approximately the same scale length?jps wrote:Welcome, Keith!

Re: Permissions?
Welcome Keith. I can send the address for you to ship a guitar.

Re: Permissions?
It seems like I should be able to read the forums. I am not selling, I just want to see what is out there. Thanks, -randy
Re: Permissions?
Randy, Welcome. Only another 29 posts and you will be there.

You can certainly read the forums, just not the Marketplace ones, just yet. Welcome to the RRF.rar wrote:It seems like I should be able to read the forums. I am not selling, I just want to see what is out there. Thanks, -randy

You guys are tough 28 to go.
Re: Permissions?
Over 10 years and 1,000's upon 1,000's of posts' worth of knowledge you're able to study here for absolutely free in the comfort of your own home at any time of day or night you choose.
This topic has been discussed to death, but the idea of the rule is to weed out people who aren't really interested in participating in the ongoing discussion of all things Rick (and more), but just want to show up, buy or sell, then move on. If that does not apply to you, then you should have nothing to complain about... right?
Let us know if you'd like the building moved a little to the left... oh, and welcome!

Re: Permissions?
Took me 50 posts at Offset Guitars. It's not so bad. Just add a "+1" here and there, aka "The Jeff Scott Method"®.
KIDDING!

Re: Permissions?
That's actually the wrong advice to give John. Posts must be meaningful and sensible. We will delete nonsensical posts particularly if the poster is deemed to be post padding towards the magical number of 30.
The whole point of this exercise is that we have an opportunity to get to know our new members before we give them permission to engage in transactions with us.

I'll admit I did used to own a couple of different RD Artists. I loved their tone and the built-in compressor was great.Wildberry wrote:Hey! Where do we send you one for free?jps wrote: No Gibsons, please.
