Can't edit old posts to preserve image links etc

Several of my past posts on this forum have contained images and/or other links to files. Until now, this material has been stored on some free webspace that came from my ISP.

I am in the process of changing ISP, so very soon this webspace will no longer exist. I would happily upload all of the images and files to a new location in order to to preserve them, but it would appear that there's no point in trying to do that: the RickResource forum interface will not allow me to go back and edit any of my old posts in order to change the paths.

Consequently, all of the images will disappear from my previous posts and any links to documents will come up as "file not found". I'm sorry about this, but unless somebody can provide me with a way of altering the paths, there's nothing I can do about it. :(

Ken I will ask Gil to have a look st this. Do you have some idea of how many posts are affected.

Thanks Peter - I've just done a quick search and it appears that there are only 13 posts affected. If there's any way I could be allowed temporary permissions to re-edit those posts I could get the job done in 20 minutes.

Hi there.
Sorry, but I don't see a (simple) way around this using the forum's permissions system.
However - if you'll upload the images to a different server using the same images names and directory structure I could easily fix it myself. Just send me the prefix for the url and the list of posts to edit and I'll do it.
For example:
old image:
http://www.myoldisp.com/~myuser/images/ric.jpg
new image:
http://www.mynewisp.com/users/~myuser/images/ric.jpg

I'll just need the old ("http://www.myoldisp.com/") and the new ("http://www.mynewisp.com/users/") prefixes and I'll easily fix it.
