Please Identify Lapsteel

Post by admin »

From the Rickenbacker forum mailbox. Quote:I have an antiquity thas was given me by my granfather. It is a Rickenbacher Electro(Los Angeles) Pat Nº 2089171. I would be very grateful if you could me advise of its model number and commercial value. I can imagine that piece is very interesting for collectors.
Truly yours

Raul: This appears to be a Model NS. I am hoping that Richard Shatz will add his comments so that all your question can be addressed. Thanks for sending in the photo. It would be helpful to have more history, however, this instrument was introduced around 1946 and discontinued during the early 1950s. Richard?

It's a model NS, early post-war, 46-48.
Probably worth $300, maybe a little less.

They made a lot of these. They are decent instruments but nothing special.
