What Strings for a B6?

Post by mp_me »

Hey-
Due to age/oxidation, I have to change the strings on my post war B6. I was wondering what strings to buy. Currently the steel has round wound strings in it.
I was thinking of putting flat wound strings on it. Is there a particular size set of strings I should purchase?
thx

I personally don't like flat wounds, because they don't produce as full a sound as round or half round.
String gauge depends on the tuning you use.
I use D'Addario half rounds 13-56 for D or E tunings.
