Re: Anyone know the story behind this?
Looks like it is a Rickenbacher B model rebranded. Too pricey for all the issues, like the pickup not working.

That silver Hawaiian is purdy..wish i could convince myself to spend the money. There's another model B with minor issues asking $785bin..\
i'm sure the right one will come along. I definitely want a Ric with a horseshoe..for the sound yes, the look..cool..and they'll always have resale value if not collector value

Re: Anyone know the story behind this?
Every so often an Model 100 (Electro or Rickenbacker) comes along and for a price in the $300-600 range. Mine is an Electro. Still get the maple, still get the tuners, still get the horsey, but at a lower price than the Rickenbacker ones. They pop up about every week or two.
Re: Anyone know the story behind this?
It's a Bronson Model 52, a BD-6 made of brown Bakelite with copper colored plates and gold plated hardware. It was produced from the late 40s into the 50s.
There are some great photos on the Rickenbacker Registration Page.
