50's Console 518 steel for sale.

Post by jpittman »

Hello to all who might be interested.

I have a 50's model Console 518 Steel that I've been restoring, and have decided to part with. Need the cash and don't have the time to commit to it. It's a triple neck steel console with almost all parts included - only 1 out of 4 legs, original horseshoes were gone when I found it, but all original electronics are otherwise here.

I've had this now for about 2 years. It was in pretty bad shape when I got it (not knowing how to play an 8 or 10-string steel) and started in on it. Completely refinished, new Jerry Wallace TrueTones in the two 8-string's, metal has been cleaned up and, I have to admit, it looks great. For anyone's that heard the Jerry Wallace's they've got a great growl, not shrill at all. It's been kept in a smoke-free household and well taken care of since it came to me.

If there's anyone interested here, make me an offer. If not, I'll have it up on ebay later in the week. Just figured I'd give some people that would really appreciate it a shot at it first.

Cheers,
J.p
