Again - many thanks to all who've been so generous with their excellent advice relating to my pre-war Rick steel lap top.
I would like to get an opinion on whether or not the case (pictured below) is original to this instrument.
The case came with the guitar when my father purchased it in the 1940s.
It def looks old - but I'm uncertain whether there is a way to determine if it was made for this guitar.
I can't find any maker markings on the case that would help me in this regard.
Any opinions on this subject are very much appreciated.

The only other instrument of that era that was shaped like a Frypan was the Supro Electric Hawaiian.



It had a 6 7/8" diameter body according to Gruhn. The Supro I have has a similar case. Off hand I don't know the diameter of the Frypan, as I am at my office and can't measure it, but I think it's a little larger.
I own three Frypans. All of them have rectangular hard cases.
Your case appears to fit well around the body, but is long enough to accommodate an A-25.
So, my guess is that it is original to the instrument, and the case was made to fit either model.
If I were planning to sell the instrument, I would advertise it as original.
How much will you be asking?

Thanks so much for sharing your opinion regarding the case - much appreciated.
Regarding the asking price - I'm assuming you mean for the case + guitar and not just the case.
When I do sell, I'm hoping to realize something in the ballpark of $2500 for everything (guitar, case, picks, slide, amp cord).

I didn't realize you had an amp.
What's the make and model.
Please post photos.

I sold the amp on CraigsList - it was a Kalamazoo Model 1.
I kept the amp cord with the guitar, however.

I just joined this forum today and hopefully sent you a message.
I am no expert on the fry pan either but wondering if the extra
knob wasn't added later by someone - tone control possibly.
Have you actually plugged the instrument into an amp to see
if it works?

I am in "Ricky withdrawal" today - just missed a 1 owner, mint condition A-22
7 string with hard-shell case on Ebay by $50 just because I wasn't quick bid savvy.
Good news is, it led me to this forum!

Welcome to the forum - just joined a couple months ago myself.
I am totally clueless regarding the other knob.
The guitar was working when my dad passed away in 2001.
We (the family) have not done anything with it (played it) since.
So it should still be in good working order since it has just sat in the case since then (only taken out for photos for this forum).
I'm going to meet up with a local expert to check this out however, just to be sure.
I'll post results afterwards.
