Price for 1948 Model B Lap Steel

I'm asking for a friend of mine who wants to sell this lap steel. I'd put it in the Appraisals section, but since it's a steel, I figured it would get more attention here. If the mods want to move it to appraisals, please do so.

Anyway, what he's got is:

1948 Rickenbacker Lap Steel
- Dated by date codes on pots
- Bakelite body/neck
- 100% original parts, electronics, including magnetic horseshoe pickup
- Great tone & sustain
- Original hard case, but pretty worn

I'm trying to get some pictures, and if I do I'll post them here. He's looking to sell this and doesn't really know what the price range should be.
