Rickenbacher late 30's Silver Hawaiian Lap Steel

Post by brianeharmonjr »

I posted this in the Appraisals section of the Marketplace, but someone recommended I post it here as well, since you folks know your Ric steels. I'm getting ready to sell a '39-'41 Rickenbacher NS Silver Hawaiian Lap Steel in good condition with the original case (just like in the picture). One tuning key has crumbled, and the pots could use a bit of electrical cleaner, but it sounds wonderful and just got a new set of strings. The picture below is not mine, but is exactly the same with a volume and tone control on opposite sides of the body with two white knobs and I think the same kind of case. I'll post pictures of mine as soon as I get some good daylight. If anyone knows what a fair asking price would be for this, or any more specifics on when it was made, please let me know. I will most likely post it for sale here on the forum before I try to sell anywhere else. Thanks!
