If you want to hear some 40s 50s Rickenbacker Lap Steel playing being done by probably the finest player today
go to You Tube and listen to Timi Abrigo, he plays all the old Rogers Ohana melodies such as Moana Chimes and others, Timi
is only a young man but his harmonics are second to none, you should also seek out albums of David Feets Rogers, Bennie Rogers.
Timi was taught to play by Ronald Kanahele a cousin of the Rogers family, Ron also played fine Rickenbacker steel, Ron passed
away a couple of years ago, another Rick player who has also recently passed was Fred Lunt, his playing can be seen in a video with
Pancho Graham also on You Tube. hope this helps.

Kimo Delgado plays amazing stuff on a Ric B6 bakelite. He studied with Jerry Byrd, so he gets it right from the source. I'm in love with his tone right now. Kimo's website is http://www.kimohawaiiansteelguitar.com and his album Kimo-Therapy is also available on iTunes

+++ for Bobbie Ingano. Check out his CD "Steel Reflections". On it he uses a 7 string Rickenbacker Frying Pan guitar, a 7 string Can Opus & a 6 string Fender Champion

Dick McIntire mostly played long-scale Frypans. There are a few tracks by him (with his Harmony Hawaiians) on the various streaming sites. He can be heard backing up Bing Crosby on "Trade Winds" which Bing considered his finest moment in the studio. He's also on some Dorothy Lamour and Lena Machado tracks. There's video of Hawaiian Great Billy Hew Len on Youtube playing a Frypan. Jerry Byrd's recordings as a sideman with Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, and especially Red Foley are a little later but feature his Bakelite Ric and a Volutone which has a field coil speaker for a nice '30's sound. Sol Hoopii played a bakelite on many of his electric recordings. Andy Iona apparently played a A22 but he also used steel players other than himself. Maybe check him out backing up Louis Armstrong for "On a Cocoanut Island".
