I have had this for 30 years. Can you help me identify it as to model number and date of manufacture? It is maple with 2 8 string necks. The stamp on the jack plate says 1A at the top and 022 on the bottom. Thanks for all you do to keep steel alive.

More likely IA as that would be the date code (Year/Month) of manufacture.

January '69

Looks a lot like a model 208 console, but most of the ones I've seen have chrome edging, maybe they dropped that in later years? At least it has the same sort of controls.

From 1958: http://www.rickenbacker.com/catalog_pos ... cf57-8.jpg

The 700 series didn't have the edging, but has 2 knobs for each "neck."

My 1958 708:

Looking at the knobs, I would say later model. 69 seems right.

Also the pickup cover is interesting. It is not a horseshoe. Looks like a bass cover. Are they metal and magnetic?

Here's mine. I think I bought it in '62 or '63. Still sounds great
