This is a great discussion. Who would have thought that all these years down the track we'd be trying to work out the identity of the first capri's made, and actually getting somewhere. Serial numbers of the first '58 Ric's have gradually appeared thanks to information sharing online. One point that has come out is that V107 wasn't the last 325 in the series. It goes to at least V111. If there where 28 of them made, as Richard Smith says this could allow for other guitars, such as the polynesian and longbodies amongst the range. Of the 31 instruments from V80 to V111 I have 17 confirmed Serial numbers to instruments in my data.
