hi all,
sorry im only just replying now ive been in bed with the flu its a bad one this year lol.
the guitar is great. ive got used to the short scale pretty much now i dont even notice it anymore. as for the sound well u all know wat a ric sounds like :D best guitar ive had in my hot little hands  LOVE IT!! any tips on what polish is safe to use to keep the finish in good condition? also anyone know what strings are best to use to save the finish on the neck? ive always used roundwounds but they always mark the neck (i think im too heavy handed lol)

David, see this thread for finish care: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=255794

I use Thomastik Infeld Flatwound 13's on my 325. I'd recommend the same for you.

Same strings as Wes, different gauge--I use the T-I Flat 12s.

Hi Dave,
Have you registered on the registration site? Once you do you'll see you're one of only 3 325v59ers in Oz...and only 2 lefties...PS scored myself a lefty mapleglo v59 to bookend with jetglo.

It could be a replacement jackplate. You'll need to ID other features of the guitar to verify authenticity.

It's real, with many aftermarket parts. Is the jackplate long, like this one?

The 325v59 came with the short jackplate like other Rickenbackers. The long one on yours is a retrofit - more vintage-correct, but not what would have originally come on your guitar. If you remove it, you'll see the screw holes where the other used to be. 325c58s come standard with the long-style, like Lennon's did.
