325V59 Pickguard

Post by 1OUfan »

This may have been asked at some other time, but I can't find it if it was so I'll ask anew:
If one wants to remove the upper guard on their 325V59 do they have to use three shorter screws to replace those used to secure the top guard or can those just be screwed farther into the guitar :?
Thanks----

Check the length of the upper guard screws against the screws in the lower guard. If the upper screws are longer, they will probably bottom out before they are snug.

When I removed my upper guard, I just picked up a few screws from Home Depot to replace the longer ones with.

They won't bottom out, but they're the wrong size, being #6. However, if you buy the right size (#4 X 3/8 or #4 X 1/2) oval Phillips head screw, they will bottom in the guard, and countersink themselves nicely in the oversized holes from the old screws. Try to find stainless steel screws--they buff up a treat.
