Alternative wiring options...

Post by DavidW »

Aside from the 5th knob volume control mod which in it self is amazing has anybody else tried some other alternatives? I don't mind heavily modding my guitar just curious what else is out there. I don't exactly have a 325, but I figured this would be the best place to go for the wiring of a three pickup Rick.

Well, ya know, 324, 325, whatever works...

I have a rewired 325 with two knobs and one switch. No tone controls (I've little use for passive treble rolloff). One knob controls the volume from whichever pickup combination selected by the stock switch--bridge, neck, or bridge+neck. The other knob controls the middle pickup volume, from full-on to full-off, and everywhere in between.

Besides looking clean and vintage, the setup gives lots of options in sound quality.
