Glad to see my post is still active! I have been away a while. I have photos of the backs of the 1996's. The first is of 2 from 2006 week 28. These guitars are one serial number away fro each other. The second shows the 2006 and a 2008. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the pictures dlandau,
I really like the lighter finishes better then the dark ones. Hear are pics of mine, darker then I would prefer but still I'm just glad to have one! :D

From what I see in the pics, yours looks fabulous. I'd be glad too...very nice.

Thanks for that leftybass,

Theres one being sold on ebay now and part of the description has "Rickenbacker only made 200 of these guitars."

Now I know they had to be spacial ordered in 2006 but is it true there all made now and only 200 produced ? I'v never heard that before.

Nah, nobody knows how many were made. They probably have all been delivered by now, but I'm not sure.

Here is a link to a thread where production numbers were discussed and Mr. Hall stated "As it happens, 153 were shipped in the USA".

So if 153 were shipped in the USA, is that the total made? And are all the orders completed or are there still some being made?
At some point Rickenbacker should know exactly how manny 1996's were made total. That would be a nice bit of info the have!

As I said, nobody outside the company knows how many were produced, and it's unlikely RIC will tell anyone.
