325 jack plate screws

Post by vincent »

OK, still about my 325 or 1996 Rose Morris..year 1964

My jack plate has cross head (phillips type)screws in it..
A few years back, when I sent Glen L some images to post on the 325 Connection it was pointed out to me it was usual
for Ric to use slot heads on the jack plates back in 64..
I've just been looking at some other model Rics circa 64 some also seem to have cross head type screws ??
I was looking on this dealers site -

http://www.oldenburger-music-station.de ... 6-1964.htm

his 1996 does indeed have slot heads - but some of the other 60's Rics he has have cross heads..
So what is correct - or did Ric use whatever they had in stock at the time ?? (which I probably buy into)

To further muddy the waters..when I bought the guitar (1971) I bought it privately
from an American (in London) who was quite firm that he had purchased it in USA and
brought it over to UK with him year before (this may, of course, not have been true..)
never really know..and that he hadn't messed with it - apart from gigging...

Is there a trly definitive way of checking if it was part of a shipment bound for RoseM in UK ?
Does Ric have this data still ?

Any answers, comments etc gratefully received

best
Nick

Judging by my two '64 Rose Morris models, they should all have slot screws.

As for getting shipping info, good luck. I've asked before with no luck, but who knows?
